Laid
Between our three chickens I'd guess that we average 3-4 eggs per day, sometimes more.
The chickens have the run of our walled in garden which gives them plenty of space whilst affording protection from various "undesirable" residents of the woods that surround our house.
They are fed on grain and meal but they also efficiently "recycle" most kitchen waste into eggs. (In a similar way to which the guys at work turn coffee into computer code).
The eggs are fantastic. The yolks of even the most premium, organic, free range, shop-bought eggs look pale, pasty and insipid by comparison.
We are some way from being fully self-sufficient but our chickens give us a regular yummy taste of the good life.
