Budapest
It's amazing how quickly it's possible to reach Edinburgh airport at 4.15 in the morning; empty streets with no traffic, all because sensible people are still in bed.
However two and a half hours later his Lordship and I had arrived in Budapest in 30degrees and sun. It suited us beautifully.
Our hotel was one recommended by D77 and is in the hills in the suburbs of the city and well served by a bus to the centre which is free to vintage residents of the EU.
An interesting afternoon was had trying to find the designated meeting point for our man in Budapest .
Suffice it to say, the underpasses with multiple exits can confusion in the best of us and cetainly don't lend themselves to gentle modulated voices when it's not obvious where exactly you are on a map with small scale.
What surprises me is how his Lordship ever made his way out of the Malaysian jungle given his performance today.
Neither am I totally blameless, but in the end the blood pressure returned to normal and we found Mr and Mrs D77.
We had dinner outside in the balmy dusk and then repaired back to our hotel for a night cap and much laughter, aided by several glasses of wine.
I'm now struggling with a problem with the WiFi connection and trying to 'Keep Calm and Carry On', but I fear this will be a back blip.
