Underlay, underlay
Marshland-Dad
Hello. Day three and of no Isabelle and Dad looking after the Blip.
Thank you to all of you who have looked at my photo's and written such nice comments. For the last 3 or 4 years I have been a Facebook user - well when I say user I mean more of a surveillance role, just watching what everyone else is doing in their lives (I'm sure that some people refer to it as stalking!) But Blip has taken over and Facebook has been kicked to the touchline at the moment.
Yesterday I hadn't managed to do as much work on Isabelle's room as I had wanted, leaving me behind. Along with Monday, where I spent more time working on Blip than anything else, this didn't put me in a good position to be finished for Isabelle returning on Friday.
Luckily I had already planned today's photo as it's Isabelle's 50th Blip photo. This still didn't help me sleep any better though, and again I found myself awake for 2 hours during the night tweaking ideas. But when I got up, I think that my best idea popped into my head.
So now feeling tired, the day began. The carpet fitter was booked for 9am. My grand plan then worked like this:
-1hr for the fitter to be finished
-Start work at 10am, giving me 5 hours work time
-Collect Libby from school at 3:15pm and deposit her at dancing class until 6.30pm
-Return to work on the room at 4pm to the end of daylight, which I estimated to be 6pm today.
Seriously, more planning had gone into today than the policing of the recent London riots! But then again, the Met did plan for 3 meals a day and I hadn't included any.
You can imagine that when it got to 9.45hrs and the carpet fitter hadn't arrived, I wasn't too happy. When they did eventually arrive ready to get on with the job, I managed to remember to offer them the obligatory cup of tea. I shouldn't have re-boiled the kettle that I had done for their 9am arrival though and just served the tea lukewarm. Then when they would have complained that it was cold I could have replied, ?It wasn't at 9am when you were due?. Yes, I am a little fed up with being let down by workmen ? can you tell?! However, thankfully the carpet fitters worked at a good speed and looked like getting finished in good time.
I have always insisted on good quality underlay, so that the carpet feels lovely and soft. So when the fitters rolled out purple underlay I had to ask, ?Where's the Cloud 9 underlay that I usually have?? I was reliably informed that this was recycled and better than my tried and trusted Cloud 9. I must admit that looking at it you could have used it for a carpet. Sooner than I could get my camera, the new carpet was laid and the fitters gone, the underlay now covered for years. But I needed my Blip photo so here's my newest Blip which is also eco-friendly with its recycled underlay.
Hope Isabelle likes the way I've adapted her nice new soft carpet!!
