The Beginning of the End

Finally the demo guys turn up. They act like that was the plan all along, to turn up at the "end of august" and then drive in on the 21 September. Mmmm
Oh well, they were very cheerful and had a lovely time sitting up on our roof all day, in the beautiful weather, chucking slate off the side. Made lots of crashing and smashing sounds, I think it appealed to the little boys in them.
It does look like there will be little salvaged in the end.
Actually they wore really nice flash harnesses and looked very safe, only they never seemed to actually attach them to anything. As we have had 10 earthquakes in the last 24 hours, and the hour before that we had three over magnitude 4, I wonder what they think it will be like up there in a shake. I could have told them that the roof flexes and rolls hugely and it is likely that they will get flicked off in no time, but there was no telling them. They were young and bullet proof and having a great time together.
