Water Water Everywhere

Water and thermal features are everywhere in Yellowstone. Every way you turn...you get sights and smells. If you don't like the smell of rotten eggs...stay away.

Clockwise, from the right top corner...starts with the Mammoth Hot Springs. White and gold and brown and yellow and smelly. Some towers are dried up, some actively running. Stunning.

Next are the 2 major waterfalls in the park. Lower Falls first, Upper Falls next. Lower Falls is take-your-breath away pretty. This is taken from Artist's Point. Everyone feels like an artist when you take your camera out here.

Next are 3 different geysers. Steady Geyser is just that. Always spitting and sputtering. Old Faithful is just that. Every 75-90 minutes...she shoots forth. The place has really transformed into an overgrown tourist area. Huge parking lots, souvenir shops, and scads of benches for people to sit on. A wee bit of a let-down for my sisters, but you have to see it. I've never seen Riverside go off, but the colors and the setting are sensational.


After another full day in the park...we ended up in a double-wide trailer in West Yellowstone, Mt. 120 bucks. OUCH!! But...aside from a balky toilet...a nice place to stay.
