Stand and deliver!

Lest I ever forget, could I?, how very much you love pirates?

Happy 74th birthday to Mum today. We had a rare, very long chat, juggling the boys on my lap, them singing Happy Birthday to Mum and Callum trying to convince Mum that she's having a "pirate ship birthday party". It's Callum's birthday in 2 months and very untrue to form, I'm completely organised for it, that is I have a room full of piratey tat and now this series of pics for the walls.

I think Reuben is all too aware that he's out of school. We attended library today though with his friends and teachers and they read a story for Reuben about a friend leaving. Very touching. How do I explain that with LA School District cuts, he cannot currently do the full school day at school, but instead, he needs to go to another school with a concrete uneven playground, and teachers who will need to learn his complex feeding schedule, understand his articulation and signs and learn to love and understand him as he's been loved at Step by Step school for the last year, all for a few months before pre-K next year. Tricky one? I've written a 5 page report listing the areas of concern and until that goes to Sacramento and back for processing, we remain in a holding zone, out of school. How this can be done to a super smart, loving, sensitive, funny little boy who's overcome all the odds including 17 surgeries beats me.

In natural light at home. Best large...
