I love this scene. While the sometimes strained racial relations in Mississippi are often the unspoken elephant in the room, ever so often they appear irrelevant. Little Man and I have just attended a birthday party for one of his classmates, Gabrielle. It was great to meet some of the other parents, and watch the kids play. While they know thy look different, it doesn't weigh on them yet. For the moment, they have no preconceived notions of one another based on their appearance.
