Aging Gracefully
Now that there are more roses on the rose bush there are more examples of the different stages of growth. I was able to capture a new bud which is deep orange in colour against the background of an old flower which has faded. It is quite amazing how the colour changes every day as it ages! As I mentioned in my Blip last week this rose is called a Just Joey and smells like perfume.
The morning started with us watching the Springboks win their match against Fiji. Thank goodness they are looking like a champion side again.
Mr G and I took T to her modeling lessons and then did a bit of shopping in Fourways.
We are about to get the braai* started for supper tonight. On the menu: lamb chops, rib eye steaks, beef ribs and boerewors*. To accompany the meat we will have pap* and gravy. For dessert we will have bananas and chocolate done on the braai.
South African Speak explained:
*braai - BBQ over coals (Afikaans word for cooking over a fire)
*boerewors - sausages (Afrikaans word : boer means farmer and wors means sausage)
*pap - ( Traditional African staple food made from maize meal. Looks a bit like mash potato) Pap is served with a tomato, onion and green pepper gravy.
I think a photo explanation may be needed - ItsOurLife have blipped an image of supper tonight!
