Buddleja

This buddleja plant was given to me many years ago by a friend down the street. I have talked to it and urged it to continue==but I found that what I was afraid to do--cut it back each spring--was exactly what it needed. This year it has grown back so lovely! The scent is heavenly!

After taking this picture, I gathered up the blankets to cover the tomatoes. A cold wind has blown all afternoon. The temperature is supposed to plummet tonight and tomorrow night, then we will return to the mid 80's! That is what is so frustrating about living on the high desert of Central Oregon: the garden freezes, then we have 3 more weeks of summer!!
