The Cat in the Hat

Often Becky and I almost come to blows with her reading as she tries to guess the words by looking at the illustrations rather than read them (which she is very good at). Our mantra is - you are brilliant at reading but rubbish at guessing.

Tonight she read 31 pages of The Cat in the Hat Comes Back without so much as a terse word from me. She even had intonation and the correct rythm for the text. Amazing what can be achieved when you are interested in the subject matter.
