Holy basil!

Planted a basil plant a few months ago and it has kind of exploded ever since. After a pesto making session this weekend, I decided to do something with the blossom: lay it to dry and get the seeds, so next year will be a basil year as well!

So here they are, lying on our kitchen table. It smells a bit weird though, not the heavenly basil smell you'd imagine. Which brings me to what I just found out: basil is quite a special herb! Some say its name comes from the Greek word for king, some say it's derived from a word for dragon. In medieval times it was considered to help against dark thoughts and to stabilize marriages. Well, nothing wrong with that is there?

It was kind of an emergency Blip though. It seems I can only remember to Blip until after dark (and it gets dark a lot earlier these days) which calls upon my creativity. Which I seem to lack right now. Better luck tomorrow!
