This is a supposed transcript of a radio conversation between a US Naval ship and Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland. I understand that there's actually a full transcript of this conversation lurking about somewhere. If anyone has is, send it to me!
US SHIP: Please divert your course 0.5 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.
CANADIAN REPLY: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.
US SHIP: This is the Captain of the US Navy Ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
CANADIAN REPLY: No, I say again, divert YOUR course!
US SHIP: THIS IS THE USS MISSOURI. WE ARE A LARGE BATTLESHIP OF THE US NAVY. DIVERT YOUR COURSE NOW OR WE WILL TAKE APPROPRIATE AND DRASTIC MEASURES!!!!
CANADIAN REPLY: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
RFA Argus leaving the Carrick Roads and about to pass St. Anthony's Head lighthouse.
Took the children up to the castle after school to blow the cobwebs away. Watched one of the Merlin helicopters playing around on manouvers in Falmouth Bay, snapped a bird of prey of some sort hovering and took some cracking dead shots of the children (especially for my little friend in my pocket).
Then I took them to Ricks for tea and met up with Ben to walk back to the car park, just as RFA Argus was being moved by the 3 tugboats from County Wharf. We stayed and watched then Lily and I went upto Pendennis Point to watch her leave...
