9/11
I spent much of the day recalling the events of 9/11 and watching various documentaries on it. The pain is still very real from that day and by no means has 10 years made it feel less devastating. My heart still aches for all the victims from that day and the days, weeks, months and now years after.
I watched a documentary this evening that I have watched before about a film crew who was following members of a firehouse around and were there with them on 9/11. Many of you probably saw this too. While it was horrible to relive the events of that day it was just as horrible to me to watch the updated documentary and hear about how many of the firefighters who survived went on to retire early, transfer elsewhere, leave being a fireman all together and worst of all die due to causes that most likely are from enhaling the particles that were in the air while they spent endless weeks and months cleaning up the debris and searching for bodies. These poor men and woman now live with emotional and physical scars from their acts of bravery and human kindness. My heart continues to go out to all of them and their families.
We will never forget
I back blipped yesterdays photo if any of you would like to take a look.
