We Woz Robbed
What can you say?
Sometimes sport can deal you a cruel blow!
Twenty five time the Welsh Dragon has gone up against the South African Springbok. In all that time we have only recorded one win, and that was at the Millennium Stadiums inaugural match.
We should have two wins in that column now. But sometimes you just don't get what you deserve. It is what makes watching sport so brilliant. You can get the highs, but you get the heartbreaks.
This morning in the Rugby World Cup Wales came within a point of getting off to a dream start in their bid to, let's be honest, punch above their weight.
They totally dominated the second half, taking a well deserve lead. But when your a team like South Africa you only need one chance to strike. Only one chance they got, and they took it. Wales spurned gilt edged opportunities to score, and paid an ultimate price.
It was performance to be proud of, and bodes well for the rest of the tournament. The Dragon roared real fire for the first time since the Grand Slam campaign a few years back.
But the match will be marred by a talking point. Something you only see rarely in a rugby match. A penalty that wasn't given as a score. From the TV angles it looks like the ball passes just in side the posts. The referee chose not to refer it, and didn't give the score. In the end, for all the missed chances, that decision is the crucial one. Three points they should have been awarded, were not.
As I said, sometimes you just don't get what you deserve.
We was robbed!
