Snowball in September

Yesterday our family grew to include Snowball, a Syrian hamster.
The GSPCA had put out appeals for new homes for hamsters. The previous owner had put 2 "boys" in one cage only to find one wasn't - and two became 12. Then 12 became 30 and they couldn't cope.
So all the boys were being re-homed while the girls remained to see if any more were pregnant.
So we collected Snowball - a name agreed by both children, since the hamster is pure white and the size of a ball. Nothing if not clever my children.
The coloured theme seems to run in our house, what with three chickens named Midnight, Snowdrop and Snowy - and you can guess their colours too!
