Cool Jazz, man!
After teaching a couple of lessons today, I hugged a colleague!
She was surprised, pleasantly I hope! I was so relieved that I could still do it (I mean teach, not hug.)
In other exciting news... I crushed a finger digit today - Whilst in the final stages of disassembling (knocking down) the old shed, it disassembled rather more quickly than I hoped - catching and crushing the end 2cm of my finger. Lifting the shed back up only increased the crushing pressure. My finger was trapped, and hurting like ....(insert own adjective here).
I thought I may have to chew through my finger, like a coyote, to gain release. Eventually I lowered the shed a little and was able to remove my finger. It was half its normal diameter and throbbing like a cartoon hammering incident. It took 3 hours to regain its normal size, unfortunately it did not stop at it's normal size and kept growing!
This evening we went to a local pub to watch the jazz, they were rather good, fortuitously it was a celebration of some sort and a free buffet was provided!
The band were all twice my age, the audience generally twice the band's age, I worried that not all of them would survive the night - but they generally woke up at the end of each song and clapped and cheered like drunk 30 somethings at a Take That gig!
