Marshland

A moment in time

There it stood. Tall and proud, strong and demanding. I looked up and there above me towered the mighty, majestic, mother of all buildings. Being a small girl from a small village and a small community, I could not imagine something this beautiful existed.

I swallowed my astonishment and walked on, every step taking me deeper into the beauty of the grounds. All around me, leaves so green and crisp that I wanted to touch them to reassure me that they were real. Trees, so tall and sturdy, stood like giants watching me from above. Flowers, bright and beautiful, dotted and dashed randomly, grew out towards the border of this magnificent estate.

I stepped up to the vast doorway and for the first time since I had arrived, felt a tingling sensation within me. Is this where it all begins? Or is this where it all ends? Only time would tell...

I thought that I'd have a bit of fun with this picture and write a story opening to go with it. I took the picture today when I was visiting York museum with my grandma and grandad. Had a great day.

PS: Dad's home and it's great, great, great.
