First successful finger food.

We've given D soft carrot sticks and soft apple chunks, but neither have been the success that half a rusk was this evening. The carrot stick was sucked in and spat out again with tiny bits nibbled off the end. The apple was tackled rather more enthusiastically but D was quite happy to let my fingers hold one end of the apple while he chewed on the other. Today though we sat down with a slice of toast each and half a rusk for D. He looked in interest as we bit into the toast and opened his mouth hopefully when we tried to hand him the rusk. It took a bit more coaxing to get him to hold it, but once started, he happily chomped it to mush. As you can see, it was pretty messy, but it's a milestone - the first time D has fed himself :)
