White Wells
Where we go in Ilkley for our baths - go large to see
Very little spare time today so a quick run on the moor before heading into the office. Overcast and drizzly, but actually weather that suited this shot. When the sun is out the reflected light is so bright that getting the exposure right is impossible. The clouds got far more dramatic later in the day, but I was at work by then. I posted a sister image to this a short while back, so for a bit of background, and to see the view from above, click here.
I've again been overwhelmed by the reception to the last couple of monochrome images. There are quite a few people here who only seem to blip in black and white, and until just now I've never really understood that. But the medium somehow gets under your skin. It gives you more creative freedom I guess, more options for putting a bit of "you" into the shot. I can't really explain how that works (I wish someone would) but it just does. And already, after just a handful of efforts, I can feel myself being pulled more and more towards mono. I very nearly avoided colour again with this blip, because it did look really good to me, but I chose not to for no particularly good reason other than having a change. I'm paranoid about becoming predictable!
NB There were so many religious references in the comments to yesterday's blip that I decided to change the title to And let there be light.
