Hot-tub Heaven

Ben had his first experience of a hot-tub his afternoon.

He LOVED it.

So did I!

A lovely afternoon: baptisms in the sea (nowhere near as choppy as last time!), followed by a barbecue at friends' house. With a dip in the hot tub ;0) Ben didn't nap all day, laughed and giggled and splashed and bounced his way through the day, no accidents, came home singing in the car, tolerated Daddy reading him a story while mummy got pyjamas on and headed for his bed before the story was even half-way through. He's fast asleep now and I'm looking forward to the morning - no pre-school this term because I managed to cancel it! With all the upheaval over the last month and Ben getting upset with me leaving him even with his best friends and having bad dreams, I figured pre-school would be the last thing he needs. We can try again in the new year, possibly. It's not as if he is going to suffer from lack of social opportunities or learning opportunities, we do enough over the course of a typical week really!

In pants news, we woke up this morning to two dry beds :) He's only gone and done it: from nappies to dry day and night in 4 weeks.

Nappy free for three months - that's me, that is - I now have three months off of changing nappies before it all starts again when the new baby arrives!

Since starting potty "training" - and I use the word loosely because it was much more of a "let's see what happens if" approach - we have had, I think, a grand total of 10 accidents.

4 little bare-bottomed piddles on the floor
3 pairs of wet pants with associated little piddles on the floor
2 wet beds after daytime naps
1 tiny poo in pants (I think Ben thought it was a fart!)

And he's dry, day and night. It's taken four weeks. I suspect it might have taken less time if I'd not been so reluctant!!

Well done Ben. You did it. Pretty much by yourself. I'm really proud of you!
