Much better on a cloudy day

Its much better to go taking pictures of waterfalls on a cloudy day. The local rivers are still swollen from Irenes rain even the river up on the mountain where its really much of an upstream for water to still be flowing in from. The ground is still so saturated that a week later water is till coming into the river from the ground up on top of the mountain.

If you check out this blip you'll see the same waterfalls with a lot less water. Choice of spots to shoot from were limited by the extra water. So many more of the rocks in the river bed to go and stand on were either below the water or wet and slippery.

With a cloudier day like today there is less chance of "splotchy" light coming the trees and ruining your shot with whited out patches.

My wife goes away to Germany for 3 days this afternoon. Just me and the little beasts. I really should have rested more in preparation for the onslaught!
