A seasider's view

Three sets of beady eyes...

These are swallow chicks in the passage way under my flat, and this is the third brood to have hatched in this cup this summer. Sadly the first clutch died when the parents couldn't get out for food for them during that bad storm in May, but they laid new eggs soon after, and they hatched and grew fine.

This is the third year I've been aware of the nest and successive broods.

It's amazing how quickly they have grown - I dare say they'll fledge soon. There's three visible in the picture, but there might be a fourth lurking at the back.

I've been keeping an eye on them, with a mind to blip them - I got some great pictures of one of last year's broods.
