2nd Day - Me and my Camera

On to the 2nd day of Julie's 30-Day Photo challenge.

The title for today was Me and my Camera.

Let me introduce you guys to my camera, my Nikon D90. Don't refer to the picture, hahaha. I only have one camera and that's what I've used to take this one. I 've had my camera for more than a year now.

I have to mention that photogrpahy wasn't something I thought I would take seriously. I do like taking pictures before but it was more of CLICK-CLICK-CLICK... oooops, DELETE-DELETE...CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK... Nahhh, DELETE-DELETE-DELETE.I guess some of you started the same way too. Hahaha. Take a thousand pictures and then save the hundred good ones. The pictures that aren't blurry, that aren't too dark or glary. I took a lot of pictures but I didn't really know the concept behind it.

Until a good a friend of mine introduced me to what I would call today as "serious-picture-taking". He's Mr. Irwin Gonzales and I'll always thank him for what he's done for me. He may not know it but he's one reason why I love what I do today. Back then, he was just starting into the hobby. I saw his pictures and I tried asking him how he did it. He sent me a few links about the basics of photography and that got me interested. But one major setback that I had was the price. Well, the desire for it was stronger so that was all the reason I had to save up for it. After a few months, I finally got my camera, my very first, own camera. And until today, I could stay IT WAS WORTH IT. If you work hard to get what you want, that adds a little more meaning to it.

This one was a challenge to me in a way that it made me realize that I should stick with my camera more often. I realized that there's more I could do with my camera. It's me and my camera, me+my camera, and that's how it should work. Sounds simple but sometimes it could be a little hard to do.

I've seen photographers, serious photographers, professional ones take things to the next level everyday. They always try to innovate their skills and make the most of what they have. But I don't want to be a professional photographer at all, I'm not in a rush either but I just wanted to try out something new everyday. I want to embrace the experience slowly each day. I just want something to keep the right side of my brain busy. I just wanted something I could share. I just wanted to create something that some people would like. And with my camera, I can do these things. If only I could spend more time with my camera. :D

So here it is, Me and my Camera.

By the way, special thanks to Will Blancher. He gave me the "mini cam" that I used as a prop. Hope he gets to read this.
