HEDGEHOG ........... not nocturnal

According to Wikipedia " Hedgehogs are almost entirely nocturnal ". Well my Mr hedgehog has decided he likes the daylight.

This week I have noticed him coming into the garden at about 4.30pm and tucking in to food left out for the birds. I have then gone out with his dish of cat food, put it under his nose and he is off tucking in to that. He also likes a drink of water from a shallow dish.

Nice to see him in the daylight but I have no idea why he is not asleep till after dark. Perhaps these cold days we are having are making him think winter is coming and he is trying to fatten up before he hibernates.
