I remember when all this was....
... a distraction.
A trip to Stevenson for my TQFE today. The last time i *studied* here was over fifteen years ago. The record shop had not long closed down and I'd found out I was going to be a dad. I decided to do a refresher course in Autocad since I'd trained as a Civil Engineer when I left school (wasn't for me, I wasn't particularly civil at 18). The big problem was that it was an open learning course at Stevenson with no formal lessons, just acces to the resources and a printed pack.
That would have been all well and good if not for the fact that, where they now have the Music department, there was a student union with Pool tables and a bar. I'd usually get about 45 minutes done then go for a cigarette break where the temptation of a quick pint and a game of pool would usually prove to strong. Getting back to work after that was always tricky.
In hindsight it was probably all for the best as I'm not sure how happy I'd be these days doing Autocad, it just seemed like an easy option at the time.
Jennie sums today up far more succinctly than I can though.
