railay beach

ventured from ao nang, krabi, on a 20 minutes longtail tuk-tuk journey to railay beach, which was quite nice. it wasn't terribly crowded, and though it lacked quite the splendor of koh phi-phi, it was soothing.

the seas are rougher this time of year, making the water look a bit murky, as well as providing a guarantee of soaking during the boat trip. you can get a water taxi for 80 baht one way per person, but they need 8 to shove off. this is not too bad when trying to find others at the ao nang pier to travel with. the difficult part was finding 8 in the later part of the day on railay who were all ready to leave at the same time. there's some bunglaows there as well (railay village i believe was the name) that may be worth staying at for a night.
