Wild in the country

The Pond

I have been walking past this pond almost every day for the last fifteen years, often twice a day, and sometimes more. The footpath starts right by our front door, and the pond is about 150 metres away, just before the first field. Quite why it has never been the blip I can't really say, although it is just off camera on a few shots. I got this far one certain Saturday night in June, and got took off in the opposite direction, so I've been a little reluctant to pass it since then. However, after three weeks of fairly intensive exercise, and walking for a couple of hours every day, I am quite confident I can tackle anything now. I walked the big road hill this morning, and the hills of the fields this evening, plus 90 minutes work-out in the hospital, so I reckon I shall be ready for sleep tonight. Which is just as well, since work beckons me in the morning. I've had ten weeks off, so can't complain, what?
