Landon Turns 6!!!

Landon turned 6 today. It's bittersweet to see my youngest growing up. So I tell him he has to stay 5....and I'll just say 5+1 this year....5+2 next year...5+3 the following year...and so on. He's not too keen on this idea. He wants to get older so I guess I'll let him. :'( Today is also the day I work in his classroom. I was able to work until just about lunchtime and then go and pick up his birthday meal request of the day. Wouldn't you think it would be a McDonald's Happy Meal? Not my child. He chose Panda Express...so Panda Express it was! I returned with his birthday lunch and cupcakes and the lunchroom sang happy birthday to him. That's where he pulled out his 'shy' grin. :)

After the school day was over and Gary returned home from work...we met at the movie theater. They saw 'Planet of the Apes' with Loren's soccer team (a treat from his coach for playing so hard) and then returned home for gift opening. We got him a remote control tarantula (one of his strange requests), a Transformers Pinball game, The Michael Jackson Experience game for the Wii and a soccer tie-blanket that I made him. As you can see, the kitten liked his gifts as much as he did. Jango kept trying to get the pinball ball and jumped around after the remote control tarantula. Happy Birthday big guy....you're such a blessing to us!
