UW Volleyball

We were fortunate to have the chance to watch our favorite college volleyball team, the University of Washington Huskies, play this weekend. They were in town for the Mizuno Invitational held at the nearby Long Beach State Pyramid. It was great to see the familiar coaching staff and the returning players (like Lauren Barfield shown here), plus evaluate the new crop of freshmen. The Huskies dominated the first two matches of the tournament before taking on Long Beach State in the marquee match. Tied one set each, the third set score was 29-27 before the seventh-ranked Huskies secured the win. They then easily won the final set of the night for the tournament title.
