Farewell To Damien

We had a light lunch after church today and then said goodbye to three people.
Firstly Linda, who is leaving our ministry to concentrate on Storytelling as a means of increasing faith and friendships.
Next Jackie who is retiring as Administrative Assistant.
Finally Damien, who is leaving the position of Musical Director to take the post of Pastoral Assistant in the Anglican ministry in London. Here he is, saying farewell to Mr Flum (who does not have a saucer on his head but the reflection of a light) and another choir member.

Later Mr Flum and I, with a few other church members, attended Choral Evensong at the beautiful Robin Chapel where Damien has been organist and Director of Music for the past 4 years, this was his last service there - and what wonderful music we heard.

It has been a cold and wet day here but we feel for the Eastern states of the USA and Canada with the hurricane Irene heading North.
