HT Race

Today it was a beautiful day. It was also HT race day. HT is short for Harlingen-Terschelling and means rowing!. No skiffs or wherries or other super lightweight boats, but the real heavy ones. Old lifeboats, Navy training boats, or even polyester boats. It is an annual event and always a 3-4 hour struggle against wind, sea and tide. Today, as said, the weather was beautiful, but in the morning it was rather windy causing a choppy start. Average rowing time was 4,5 hours, which is a remarkable feat for all rowers completing this race
