Washing the line

Another day sea kayaking, this time North Berwick.

A easterly made the sea to Fidra lumpy and I had to really concentrate were I placed the paddle.

At Fidra we kept as close to the coast as possible heading into little bays practicing our different strokes.

At the north end I was back paddling into a cave, misjudged a wave and was over. Unlike yesterdays forced capsizing I was calm, tucked in and hit the kayak. Managed to grab the rescue kayak and right myself. Back in the kayak we continued to Yellowcraig beach for lunch. Thunder and lightning to the west filled the backdrop as we ate.

A stiff paddle back into the wind was tough, once we reached the sheltered harbour we practiced our support strokes.

What a cracking day in very good company.

Back into Edinburgh and popped into Blip meet. Good to catch up with some of the community.

Fell asleep in the bath tonight, very pruney digits.
