Every Day Is A holiday!

Cars, Cars, Cars

We were leaving Nanaimo today and as we left the harbor on our way to Silva Bay I caught site of a huge barge with hundreds of compressed cars. It was amazing how tall it was and then it struck me that our "garbage and castoffs" have to go somewhere. Hopefully there is a place to recycle all of this metal!! How wasteful we have become!!

When we bought this boat, it contained a "trash masher" smack in the corner of the main salon where you spend a majority of your non-boating time! There was something sort of disgusting about looking at a garbage bin all night long, so we pulled it out and replaced it with a nice set of three useful drawers for charts and miscellaneous boat "stuff"!! Now since we are thinking about heading out into more remote sections of Canada, garbage does become an issue...so we brought that darned trash masher back to the boat this summer, but banished it to the back deck adorned with a pretty tablecloth...you would never know it was there!! And we can MASH to our hearts content.
