X marks the spot

I had to go to the opticians to collect new specs, varifocals, the second set of lenses they've tried. Better, although I'm still not convinced. Came home via the allotment to continue hacking through the weedy jungles and was alarmed to see a big white "X" painted on this nice old tree that stands on the corner of Prospect Bank. It has a couple of dead branches in its upper canopy but nothing lethal looking. :-(
