Foreboding skies
At the north end of Canandaigua Lake lies the city of Canandaigua. Just to the south of the city's Main Street lies the City Pier which juts out into the lake. It is a great pier, as one can drive out on it and see the activity at the north end of the lake.
On the city pier are a few rows of boathouses. These houses are part of Canandaigua history and are very picturesque. The people who own them are not allowed to live in them. I guess I am not sure why, exactly, but I was told that during really bad storms, the pier can actually become flooded.
Husband and I went for a little ride late this afternoon and we drove out onto the pier. While the boathouses look so pretty in the late afternoon sunshine, today, they looked a little scary! The sky above them was an angry dark grey, growing darker and darker. Even though the sky was foreboding, activity continued on in normal fashion!
