La canicule

A heat wave has been forecast for most of southern France, so it seems that summer has at last arrived. It's not as hot here as it is further west, but it's still warm enough for us to be glad that we can stay indoors most of the day, venturing out just to buy mussels which we cooked for lunch and added some red pepper and caper sauce I made yesterday. The house seems very quiet as it's the first day for two weeks we've been on our own.
