WHAT IS IT?
Its the engines (steam I think) from the tug "Clyde" built by A & J Inglis, Glasgow in 1851 for the Clyde Navigation Trust.
I had gone down to the Renfrew Ferry looking for some inspiration and came across this monument to the Clyde's shipbuilding past. Like some parts of the Clyde it is a bit dilapidated but still provides a sense of strength and power.
I have been down to the ferry often but this was the first time I have really paid any attention to the old engines. Is blipping making me see things differently?
