'eco'-school

A turbine harnesses the wind around the new (Andrew) Carnegie Primary School, in Dunfermline, Fife, to power the building's lights and computers. Was here with the First Minister to welcome the pupils to their new school building following the summer holidays. A seriously impressive design, the school is in line for a prestigious sustainability award. It features high levels of insulation, natural light and natural ventilation, a combined heat & power plant, rainwater harvesting, as well as the wind turbine.
