Strawberries

Well, we had a "jam packed" day today!

Off in to Edinburgh hubbie, Ethan & I went this morning. We took Ethan for a wander through town and up the Royal Mile. He started off in the pushchair but wanted to walk for some of it, ending up on hubbies shoulders due to the crowds. He didn't seem too fazed by the volumes of people though and really enjoyed watching what was going on.

We then drove out to Craigies Farm to go strawberry picking. Ethan really enjoyed the trailer ride down to the strawberries and once there probably ate nearly as many as we picked - oops! There was no hiding the evidence either as he was covered in strawberry juice! The cashier admitted his niece did the same when he took her along recently and he didn't seem too fussed by the missing berries!

After that, we went down the back road to Edinburgh Airport so Ethan could do a bit of plane spotting. I was surprised at how many other people were there too! It took a while for any planes to land but then quite a few did within a short space of time and a few took off too. Ethan was really excited by the planes - pointing at them coming in and exclaiming in delight!

By the time we left there it was well after 4pm and Ethan had only had a 20 minute nap all day. He fell asleep in the car within minutes and I let him carry on sleeping for a bit when we got back. He looked like he was waking so I took him in the house but he snuggled up to me on the sofa and went back to sleep again. By 6pm he still didn't look like he'd be waking any time soon so I woke him up. He didn't want his dinner (that Anabel Karmel had lovingly prepared) but ate all my baked beans and peas instead! It was a slightly later shower for him this evening but he was in bed by 7.45pm .... funnily enough 35 minutes later he's still awake but sounds happy enough. I wonder if we'll live to regret his late nap come tomorrow morning though!
