The Great Escape

Yes this mealworm thinks it could do the 'Great Escape' from this Starling but I think you all know what the outcome to this blip is - bye bye wormy! I'm on the very last lot of mealworms and then after that it will be back to the suet blocks I have waiting in the garage. Getting the mealworms has been great and I will continue it again next Spring but I think it's nice to have some variety in what you feed your garden birds and as it's mostly the Starlings who went for them I think the suets will be appreciated just as much as the worms especially as (dare I say it) we are getting close to Autumn.

Here is another photo of the same Starling and a House Sparrow who posed nicely on the top of the arbour. I'm also very happy as I saw my first Robin in months who perched on our gate and then flew away. Will keep a look-out and see if he (or she) returns.
