Fungi Umbrellas

I saw these cute little mushrooms in the park this morning while walking Poppy. They were very delicate looking and with their ribbed caps, I thought they looked very much like little umbrellas.

Poppy was very curious about why I was down on the ground aiming my camera at these things. She sniffed them for a second and I was a little bit worried that she might try and taste one, but I guess they didn't smell like something that would be good to eat.

Today is the first day in several weeks where we haven't had to turn our air conditioner on. It's actually quite pleasant out right now, overcast with a bit of a breeze. I'm hoping that we've turned the corner on the really hot weather.
