Orange-Barred Sulphur

Why is it that some days photos seem to present themselves to you, while other days, you must really stretch yourself and your imagination to get even *one* single photo?

I am experiencing a real challenge since we came home from our vacation. Yesterday was spent looking at vehicles and taking test drives. I dislike such things....seems no vehicle has everything one wants/needs in a package that isn't excessively pricey. And so, the hunt continues...perhaps the stress from such excercises (in futility) drains my creative self.

Today I decided to search out the elusive black butterfly that presents itself just long enough to entice me outdoors, then flutters off into the woods not to be seen again until the next day. I did indeed spot it and it flew upwards and off before I could blink my eyes. Amazing how it does that. I did spot it one time on the Butterfly Bush.

I walked all over, finding one very sad little brown-colored butterfly that looks like it has been involved in some territorial disputes. Its wings looked rather fringed on the edges, not smooth and untattered!

Finally, I came upon this little Orange-barred Sulphur. It was trying to be elusive as well, so I donned the telephoto lens so as not to disturb the tiny creature as it sipped nectar.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day, photowise!
