Emergency Jam

Plum to be precise. As the weather looked distinctly unpromising today, I though I'd stay in and get my walk checks written up. By the time I looked up from the computer, it was after 2pm, so I thought I'd have a quick check on the garden. Then I realised just how bad the weather was! Drought-stressed trees laden with fruit + high winds = emergency jam. It was a quick batch just to get things started. During the course of the next few weeks, there will be plum chutney, pickled plums, plum sauce, bottled plums, plums in rumtopf, plum crumble for the freezer....
Then there's the apples....
Planning to do the next leg of the Cuckoo Way tomorrow, so hoping the weather will be a bit kinder.
