Reflections in the Wet

The Fringe has today put on the performance of a lifetime; a water feature show which will run for an estimated three days. Hallelujah, and it's all for free, courtesy of the world's meteorological system.

You only need to provide a brolly and a raincoat if you want to stay moderately dry; oh and perhaps a pair of wellies if you're intending to walk for a coffee to a café on the banks of the nearest street canal.

The powers that be are taking the performance to outlying districts too, and his Lordship is intending today to be a participant in the water soaked hills near Biggar, such is his need to savour the delights of tramping through bogs in adverse conditions on his own.

Well, each to his own , as they say, and I am glad I haven't bought tickets for today's show and am happy to have a mother /daughter/ granddaughter get together under shelter before they wing their way back to the sunshine and dryness of Oman.

They have had the last 13 days in Scotland when it's poured most of the time- Edinburgh, Peebles, Elgin, you name it, it's been wet, wet, wet; such a shame, no wonder they never want to come back here to live.

I have been asked by my book group to point out that they judged the cake a success last night, despite it's odd shape and being upside down. There's even a little left for the visitors.
Oh and they all really liked the book- where am I going wrong?
