Southsea Fire

Decided to go for an early evening run with the dog and the kids on their bikes. On the way to the park I saw a column of smoke coming from Southsea seafront. This the view from Canoe Lake and as close as we got. Thankfully it wasn't the hotel but the derelict building further along. The building used to contain Joanna's nightclub. I went in there once but after walking on sticky carpet and looking around I left after about 5 minutes. One of my colleagues seems to have happier memories of the place.

There was a hell of a lot of smoke from the fire. With the riots going on some people put smoke and sirens together and thought riots, then wrote some panicking tweets. Thankfully no riots in Portsmouth and police think it's unlikely to be arson.
