Water of life
No, not a biblical reference but a rather an alternative view on the weather we are all experiencing at the moment.
The torrential downpours have continued today which is not great for those with outdoor plans. It has to be said that, whilst I dislike really hot weather, even I am a bit fed up with the wind and wet.
However, I do like to find the silver lining and, when I saw these hoverflies drinking the droplets on the hardy geranium, I knew that was it. Without the rain no life would survive.
The garden is flourishing in the rain, though it is also doing some damage to the more delicate blooms. Droplets on the Alchemilla Mollis are like jewels.
So there's a lot to be thankful for - even the rain!
