Memories are made of this
Day 2 in Yorkshire. We've had torrential rainstorms here today - to use dialect, it has siled down. The sky last evening was amazing and foretold today's weather accurately. See the mares' tails? They were spectacular.
After meeting my uncle (Dad's older brother) and aunt for lunch we went back to their house for a cup of tea. I've been visiting this house for as long as I can remember. It used to belong to my great-aunt and uncle.
I have vivid memories of going for tea, sing songs round the piano, slideshows and the garden. Ah yes, the garden. Who can ever forget the smell of hothouse tomatoes? The garden used to have lots of roses and other flowers for cutting. Since my uncle moved in there have been lots of changes, the far end now being a vegetable garden with a large fruit cage.
This year pink sweet peas are growing on part of the fruit cage. So once again, cut flowers are to be found in the garden of memories.
