An ancient way of life

The Hani people, one of China's minority people's, are high mountain dwellers who terraced the mountaintops maybe a thousand years back and have been living there sustainably ever since.

This is even harder than it sounds, because rice plants start their life deep in water, so the terraces are basically tiers of walled pools with a complicated irrigation system
