On Holiday - Day 8
Homeward Bound
I left Glasgow this morning on the final leg of my holiday, and within 2 hours I had become Mrs Grump!
3 Gripes:
1. The world of coffee.
Whether it's Costa or Starbucks, its the same story. A queue of 20, the staff faffing doing their best to keep up with the demand for single shots of coffee to produce a wide variety of different end products. Why the heck can't they have a machine producing 10 shots at a time that get poured into 10 cups? It's a joke!
2. Inside lane syndrome.
Yes, the motorway bursting with holiday traffic in the middle and outside lane, while the inside lane was empty.
3. BLT
£3.99 pee for a couple of slices of white bread, with a scrape of spread. 2 rashers of rather overdone bacon, 4 slices of tomato and a scattering of salad leaves.
I asked the lady at the till:
"Would you pay four quid for a sandwich?"
She said "No!"
I said that I was usually quite a nice person.
We laughed!
I'm home now, chilling with a glass of wine. The detox will start tomorrow, Monday.
1,250 miles. Met some lovely people, ate some delicious food, stayed in some super places, saw plenty of beautiful scenery. No email or phone for the majority of the week. A real holiday. Perfect.
