La Tournette

La Tournette is on the right above Son #1's head, not dead centre!

Son #1 takes a pause in the bike ride we embarked upon today to gaze upon La Tournette which dominates the view from pretty much most spots around Lake Annecy.

He knows that a 6 year old has been known to climb this 2351 metre peak which is apparently readily walkable with the odd bit of scrambling and chain holding.

Perhaps he is thinking he should be giving himself a few personal targets, knowing it's only a matter of time before Michael Gove decrees that all 6 year olds should be able to climb a 2000 metre peak unaided.

Another lovely day. There has been a rumour of a forthcoming thunder storm but it's been a lovely day so far, if a bit more cloudy.

We went out on the bikes today and took the route along the cycle path towards Annecy. We then had a bit of an explore, ending up next to the lake where a swim was had and then another. We then cycled along to this lovely bit of promenade (from where the photograph was taken) where I lay down to get some lower shots. Some time later (not long) I was snoozing happily and could have carried on for a couple of hours. Son #2 sat on my head, ending all the bliss, which probably lasted about 5 minutes. Oh well...

Out for a run tonight and a bit of an explore. If Son #1 comes it will end in an Orangina for him no doubt and a sip for me if I'm lucky.

I'm looking up at La Tournette as I type secretly itching to climb it. Another time, maybe with a 7 year old instead!
